Today being Valentine's Day gave me the perfect opportunity to express to my family my love for them. It's easy in the busyness and chaos of day to day life to overlook the good qualities of my children and husband. So I decided to write a love note to each member of my family telling them what I love and appreciate about them the most. I bought some inexpensive candy and put it in individual sandwich bags and put their note inside.
Have a Happy Valentine's Day expressing love to those you hold dear .

I like this idea. It's something your kids can keep and look back on one day. Also, it takes the commercialism out of Valentines and puts the heart back into it. :)

Really, I love to observe most holidays in a low key manner and this is a great idea of a way to do so.
I agree with prov31rj. I think holiday's should be celebrated simply. There is so much more meaning in simple things and gifts that are made or written which required thought and care. I get so overwhelmed in stores by the sheer amount of stuff! There is just too much of it.
