We've just increased our family by 15!!

Okay, not really, but we did buy 15 chicks over the weekend. Aren't they cute. We just have to get busy converting our garden shed into a chicken coop.

Oh they are so cute! Wow, you've got chickens! I am so excited for you. Have you ever done this before? My neighbor does it every couple of years. She says it's really not long between the time she gets them and buthering time. Will you keep these feathered friends as egg layers and pets or do you plan to use them for meat? I think I would like some for layers, pets and bug control. :)

No I've not done this before and really don't know what I'm doing. Slowly learning : ) I got the idea for turning the garden shed into a chicken coop off the internet. So we will follow the plans. They will be layers. I bought only pullets because I don't want any roosters but I have a feeling there might be a rooster in there : )

How is it going with your chickens? I know they grow and change fast. Soon they will be running all over the place and it'll really feel like a farm. :)

Enjoy your chicks, I agree with wifeandmom that they grow up fast. :) We got 9 and lost 1. They will be 8 weeks old. That's a great idea to turn your shed into a chicken coop. We turned our old dog pen into a coop, and it serves quite nicely. Our chicks are very friendly, and they will jump up on our shoulders.:)
