Summer is my favorite time of the year; however, I find it very difficult to know what to make for dinner because we don't like to eat warm food during warm weather. Yesterday all I ate was some tortilla chips and salsa. I wasn't really hungry because I couldn't think of anything to eat that sounded appealing.
We do eat grilled food but to me that's different then standing over a hot stove or even having a meal from a crock pot.Below I will share this weeks menu (you will see most of the meat dishes are grilled) I would love if some of you shared some of your summertime favorites. I need some ideas : )
Main Dish (meat)
Grilled Turkey Burgers
Hick Chicks (grilled chicken breasts with bq sauce , slice of cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce & tomato on an onion bun. I don't eat the bun becuase of my gluten free diet but my family does)
Tacos
Grilled pizza....never tried it...hoping it works
Grilled Italian Sausage subs with green peppers, onion ,and muchrooms
Sandwiches
leftovers....I hope
Side Dishes
Dill Potato Salad
Pasta Salad
Side Salad of Baby Romaine Lettuce
Watermelon
Green Bean and Pea Salad
Please share with me your dinner menu for the summer months. You can leave a comment or post it on your blog.

Hey there! One summer fave comes to mind. Grilled chicken sliced or chopped over a romaine lettuce salad with sliced hard boiled eggs, shredded cheese, chopped walnuts, dressing of choice, croutons, sunflower seeds, fresh tomato, chopped celery and shredded carrot.
You can always change up your salads and make it a manderin chicken salad with slivered almonds, dried cranberries, chinese noodles, manderin oranges and a vinagerette dressing or raspberry vinagerette. OR a southwestern salad with grilled chicken, black beans, corn and a fun fresh or jarred salsa with an italian vinagerette... OR crispy chicken strips cut up over romaine salad with all the yummy toppings you might like and a ranch dressing to top. Just some thoughts on cool salads for warm days. I love this stuff on a hot day. You can serve it up with crusty bread and fresh fruit slices. Mmmmmmmm.... I am getting hungry just making some suggestions. LOL! :)
I think I use about a Tablespoon of grains for mine. If I put it in a pint size jar, it is ready in 12-18hrs. You will know it's ready because it is thickened like pourable yogurt. It will smell sour, but more like yogurt and not nasty smelling. If you used more milk, like a quart, then it will take at least 24hrs. If you look at the video I show how mine is ready- little pockets of clear liquid whey form on the bottom or in the middle. That means the grains have used up all the lactose and need new milk or they starve.
